Enjoy a visit to the restored landscape of John Mariani who was our speaker in March. His 60 acre property near Burlington is a broad prairie ringed by hilly, wooded savanna, with a home designed by John to “fit into the Midwest prairie landscape vernacular”.

Return to St Francis to see the Earth Echoes project, including a restoration of the Deer Creek watershed, done by the nuns at the St Francis of Assisi convent. We will be led by Dorothy Boyer who served as advisor to the sisters and some of the sisters who worked on the project.

A visit to Lulu Lake near East Troy where we will meet Jerry Ziegler, land steward for the Nature Conservancy, who will tell us the history, current challenges and innovative management practices of this unique State Natural Area.
